Our client, one of the largest specialist vehicle converters in Ireland & the UK, wish to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to work from their Co. Offaly based in Ireland. Role Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to manage a multidisciplinary workforce of approximately 100 people carrying out vehicle conversions primarily for the Emergency Services of Ambulance, Police, Fire & Military.

The person will have a proven track record as a Manufacturing Manager, focused on engineering and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsible for:

Meeting business KPI’s with regular reporting on performance.

Managing all aspects of HR in the Manufacturing environment and within the company-union agreement, it also involves recruitment as the need arises.

Implementing all company Policies and Procedures, Union Agreements, Health &Safety, Industry Regulatory Standards, Training and Certification Standards, Quality Control, Material Tracking

Ensuring that each project meets the company and client standards on quality and engineering and in so doing exceed customer expectations in terms of Quality Products delivered.

Manage the interface with key suppliers and sub-contractors in line with Company, Regulatory and Production Standards.

The person will manage the interface with key functions of pre-production Engineering, Materials Management & Finance.

Creating the Master production schedule and the short-term vehicle hourly move plan for the production lines.

Management Detail

Participate in all weekly meetings as required and chair the daily ops meeting as needed.

Liaise with all key departments and staff to achieve maximum production efficiency in order to meet with targets while maintaining very high standards.

Developing, the Build Specification, the line Process Sheet required to run the line at the required move times.

Provide input to the Engineering Team to identify where processes, procedures, materials and other can be improved.

Delegate relevant tasks to Staff members and support them in achieving them.

At the time of shipping, ensure that all vehicles and relevant documentation is available, checked and on time.

Required

An experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager who has worked in the area od vehicle conversions or similar.

Someone with very good people management, interpersonal skills and be a very good communicator.

Have an excellent eye for detail and be able to implement change as required.

Be a strong team player, giving leadership in your daily work.

Salary: A very good remuneration package will be put in place for the selected person.
